The Alcott

Project type: Hospitality
Project Size: 850M2
Project Completion Date: JULY 2018

BRIEF:
CREATE A CONTEMPORARY MULTIPURPOSE DINING AND SOCIAL SPACE THAT WOULD ATTRACT CLIENTELE FROM ALL OVER SYDNEY, WHILE BRINGING NEW LIFT TO A HISTORICAL SITE.

EXPERIENCE:
AT THE ALCOTT, WE PAY TRIBUTE TO THE SITE’S HERITAGE. OUR DESIGN EMBRACED THE MANY ‘POCKET’-TYPE AREAS WITHIN THE EXISTING VENUE TO CREATE DISTINCTIVE SPACES AND INTIMATE NOOKS.

REPLICATING THE VISUAL EXPERIENCE ON A SENSORY LEVEL, QUIETLY COMPETING COLOURS AND TEXTURES ADD DEPTH TO THE ATMOSPHERE, WHILE SOFT INTERIOR LIGHTING SETS A SOPHISTICATED MOOD.

THE MID-CENTURY MODERN ERA IS EXPLORED THROUGH A PALETTE OF BOLD, SLIGHTLY NOSTALGIC COLOURS, ACCENTED WITH PRE-LOVED FINDS THAT REPRESENT THE LAYERS OF HISTORY WITHIN THIS VENUE.

“The Pony team were an absolute dream to work with. They were incredibly professional, super passionate, efficient and have an exceptional eye for detail – creating beautiful design solutions that responded to not only our commercial objectives, but also ensuring they delivered from a functional and operational perspective. Pony created a beautiful space for us, they went over and beyond in delivering and it really was an absolute pleasure working with Natalie and the team on this project. I look forward to working with Pony in the future on more projects and thank them for their support over the past few months as well. Dream team!”
