Créo

BRIEF:

Tile retail, reimagined. The Créo Showroom brief was clear: create a space that felt less like a store and more like an experience. Set within a 305sqm former warehouse in Waterloo, the challenge was to honour the building’s industrial character while building something entirely new within it. A space where craft, texture and collection could speak for themselves.

EXPERIENCE:

We kept the bones. The timber-trussed ceiling, the masonry walls, the raw volume of the warehouse shell: all retained, all amplified. Against this backdrop, a warm nude palette creates a soft,  cohesive and quietly grounding space.

The result is a gallery, not a showroom. Modular tiled panels and custom rotating plinths allow collections to shift with the seasons, making room for new releases, collaborations and the work of local makers. A dedicated Japanese collection enclave offers a moment of focused immersion within the wider space, a room within a room.

Materials came largely from Créo’s own inventory. Tiles used throughout the fixed applications were drawn from current stock, reducing waste without compromising intent. Where budget was tight, hands-on collaboration with trades made custom detailing possible, and a close working relationship with the client made every decision faster, cleaner and more considered.

What Créo asked for was a home for their collections. What we built was a space that grows with them.

Crumb

BRIEF:

CRUMB’s first bricks and mortar venue required a café identity that felt vibrant, energetic and unmistakably approachable.
Drawing loosely on nineties hip hop and the charisma of New York delis, our challenge was to translate this attitude for a Western Sydney audience. The project required out of the box design solutions to work within a tight scope and accelerated timeframe.

EXPERIENCE:

Our perfectly selected warm butter-yellow foundation anchors the interior, evoking a palette of butter and toast while giving space for the graphic elements to shine. Our concept for re-wired vintage televisions, sit at the heart of the venue and introduce a sense of movement and street-level personality, showcasing the impactful brand identity.

Materials are intentionally humble: hardware-store shelving, off-the-shelf furniture with gloss finishes applied by hand. These choices embrace the rawness of the concept while allowing lighting and colour to heighten the atmosphere. Soft amber and peach lighting emphasises the textures and keeps the interior grounded, warm and quietly expressive.

The result is an venue that balances vibrancy with grit: playful, indulgent and unmistakably local. A sandwich shop with street-style charisma, bringing the spirit of a NYC deli to Sydney’s southwest.

Cali Press

BRIEF:

A brand evolution, not just a fitout. The Cali Press Westfield Sydney brief called for a space that felt more considered and refined, while holding onto everything that makes the brand approachable. Set within a 74sqm tenancy in Westfield Sydney’s food court, the challenge was to create genuine presence within a constrained footprint, and lay the groundwork for a national rollout.

EXPERIENCE:

We wanted the space to feel like stepping into sunlight. Warm, sand-based tones cut through the ambient darkness of the surrounding food court, creating a point of lightness and clarity within a busy circulation zone. The brand’s coastal character remains, translated into something more urban and resolved.

Strict tenancy requirements shaped every decision: shopfront treatment, lighting, materials. Rather than resist those constraints, we worked within them. The result is a more disciplined interior, where every element earns its place.

Materials were chosen for longevity as much as appearance. Recycled plastic surfaces, reclaimed timber, renewable cork and handcrafted ceramic tiles produced in solar and hydroponic-powered facilities. Selections made with future rollouts in mind, ensuring the design can be applied consistently without ever feeling generic.

What began as a single store is now a framework. A clear, adaptable identity that travels.

The Oaks Bottle Shop & Take Away

BRIEF

Create a unique space that’s part bottle shop, part local diner – where the love of home cooked food and local craft beverages shines through.

EXPERIENCE

An homage to simpler times, the Bottle Shop references the past while catering for the modern consumer. It’s old-school chippy meets bespoke retail offering, and it works.

Leveraging existing architectural elements and original detailing, the retro furniture and powder blue and burgundy accents emanate the welcoming charm of an old school milk bar.

Rich dark timbers and hidden seating nooks inject a level of exclusive sophistication reminiscent of a speakeasy.

The inviting food area flows seamlessly into the clean, lightly industrial retail space –the ultimate go-to for brews and a quick bite.
