BRIEF:
Tile retail, reimagined. The Créo Showroom brief was clear: create a space that felt less like a store and more like an experience. Set within a 305sqm former warehouse in Waterloo, the challenge was to honour the building’s industrial character while building something entirely new within it. A space where craft, texture and collection could speak for themselves.
EXPERIENCE:
We kept the bones. The timber-trussed ceiling, the masonry walls, the raw volume of the warehouse shell: all retained, all amplified. Against this backdrop, a warm nude palette creates a soft, cohesive and quietly grounding space.
The result is a gallery, not a showroom. Modular tiled panels and custom rotating plinths allow collections to shift with the seasons, making room for new releases, collaborations and the work of local makers. A dedicated Japanese collection enclave offers a moment of focused immersion within the wider space, a room within a room.
Materials came largely from Créo’s own inventory. Tiles used throughout the fixed applications were drawn from current stock, reducing waste without compromising intent. Where budget was tight, hands-on collaboration with trades made custom detailing possible, and a close working relationship with the client made every decision faster, cleaner and more considered.
What Créo asked for was a home for their collections. What we built was a space that grows with them.
